Is There More Backlash Against Female Speakers than Male Speakers?

I ask this question after seeing the video of Emma Watson’s speech to the United Nations on gender equality posted on Girl’s These Days blog and noticed something interesting when I looked at the video, that comments had been disabled. When I saw this it made me instantly think of Anita Sarkeesian’s Youtube channel Feminist Frequency, who had to disable comments due to constant threats of rape, murder, and other such violent acts.  Therefore, since I rarely see comments disabled on videos featuring males speaking out about gender equality, I’m wondering if disabling comments on Emma Watson’s speech was done as a precaution to avoid any violent threats to be made to her? And if so, is this really because there is consistently a more violent backlash against female speakers speaking out about gender equality than male speakers speaking out about gender equality?
